2019 Subaru Crosstrek Prices, Reviews, and Pictures

The Subaru Crosstrek compact crossover is ideal for urbanites who want both city maneuverability and off-road performance for weekends. The XV Crosstrek was the original name of the Crosstrek. Subaru introduced the 2018 model year’s second generation Crosstrek.

The Subaru Crosstrek is a great vehicle at a hard-to-beat price. The Subaru Crosstrek’s 8.7 inch ground clearance means it can travel down steep dirt roads and snowy roads. The 4-cylinder engine is a little too slow for some drivers. It doesn’t have much mid-range power which can make freeway merging difficult. The Crosstrek’s strong cargo and passenger capacities, excellent gas mileage, and overall quality are all reasons to consider the small wagon.

Trims and Pricing

Only the Crosstrek wagon is available. To protect against rock damage, the vehicle has a higher ride height and body cladding. The Subaru vehicle is available in four trims: 2.0i Premium, Limited, Hybrid, and Limited. The 2.0i base model comes with all-wheel drive and a rearview camera. Daytime running lights are also included. Keyless entry is available on the Hybrid. Premium models add leather steering wheels, fog lights, heated front seats, and a cargo cover to take it up a level. The Limited and Hybrid models offer leather seating, blind spot monitoring, automatic climate control, blind spots monitoring, 18-inch wheels, as well as Subaru’s EyeSight driver assistance.

The Subaru Crosstrek comes standard with a $21,000 factory invoice for a base 2.0i model, and a MSRP of approximately $22,000. The vehicle’s MSRP will go up by about $1,000 if you choose the Premium trim level. The vehicle’s MSRP is increased by $4,000 with the Limited trim level. The Hybrid model adds approximately $7,000 to that figure. TrueCar customers receive the TruePrice. This is the price that one would pay at a Subaru Crosstrek dealership, including any fees and incentives.

Engine and Performance

Two engine options are available for the Subaru Crosstrek line. The Subaru Crosstrek Limited, Premium, and Base models are equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. It produces 152 horsepower and 140 pound-feet. The Premium and Base models can be ordered with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. Only Premium models can be ordered with the CVT transmission. Crosstrek’s fuel consumption is 23 mpg city and 29 mpg highway when equipped with the manual transmission. The combined rating is 25 mpg. The CVT models have a combined rating 29 mpg and are rated at 33 mpg highway and 27 mpg in the city.

All Subaru Crosstrek models are equipped with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

Crosstrek Hybrid offers buyers the option of a plug-in hybrid vehicle. It features a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and an 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. The gasoline engine generates 137 horsepower and 134 pounds-feet torque. Only the Crosstrek Hybrid can be ordered with the CVT transmission. The Crosstrek Hybrid is capable of reaching speeds up to 17 miles on electricity and has a fuel consumption equivalent to 90 mpg.

The interior design of the Crosstrek is simple and airy in true Subaru style. The interior colors can be either all black or mixed with grey depending on the buyer’s preference. The vehicle’s interior surfaces feel soft and luxurious, which is what Japanese buyers have come to expect. The controls are simple to use and reach while driving. However, some stereo controls can be locked during driving to prevent drivers from being distracted.

The Crosstrek can accommodate five adults, slightly more than the Impreza’s wagon version. The rear has plenty of space for passengers, while the front is spacious and the rear is comfortable. With the second row of seats folded down, cargo space is 20.8 cubic feet. The second row seats can be folded down to create a huge 55.3 cubic foot space for gear storage. Flat load floors make the Subaru Crosstrek more practical.
